Passing Call of Duty 2 - El Alamein: The Front Line

TIME AND PLACE: October 29, 1942; near El Alamein

This is one of the many defensive missions of the game. You will have to fight off the enemy's attacks. First, you will be attacked by some German troops. Enemy armored vehicles and tanks will appear later. You start on the back of an armored truck. You can aim at the German soldiers. When you get to your destination, jump off the truck and listen to what the squad leader says.

You will have to protect the central buildings of the complex at any cost. Enemies will storm this place from many sides. The first groups come from the south. Go there (don't forget to use your compass). Here you should meet a couple of teammates. They will help in the next battles. You should see the enemy troops advancing on your position. Wait until they get closer. Remember that your current weapon has a very limited firing range. Don't waste any ammunition. Ignore the armored car, it won't hurt you.

You have to practice aiming at the heads of enemy soldiers. Don't waste too many rounds. It would also be wise to use some grenades. Start throwing them into large groups of German soldiers. Next, you will have to defend the western side. Go there now. Use the compass to navigate to your destination.

More Germans will find to go to the right. Start shooting at them. Enemies will try to use smoke bombs to blind you. This will make your job a little more difficult. You have to be very careful. Don't let the soldiers get to the occupied trenches. You also have to watch out for enemy grenades. If possible, return them to their original owners.

After fighting the enemy soldiers, you should get some new orders. Head southwest. The Germans are fleeing from a nearby hill. As before, use grenades to destroy large groups of enemy troops. Don't let the Germans get closer to your positions.

Enemies will probably try to use smoke grenades again. You should be careful. Germans can hide almost everywhere. You might want to step back a bit and start shooting at those soldiers who jumped into the trenches. You should also use fragmentation grenades to dispose of them faster and safer.

You will receive new orders in a couple of minutes. This time you will have to defend the northern part of the city. It is worth leaving the current station. It would be advisable to choose a path located between two buildings. DON'T jump into the trenches. Instead, take a heavy machine gun. Start shooting at visible enemy soldiers.
